Along the river flowing from the Alps. Vineyards are on the valley floor as well as the slopes. Dry summers and low rainfall. Protected from the cooling influences of Lake Garda by mountains.
Trentino-Alto Adige Region notes: Cooled by the cold air flowing down from the Alps.
Northern Italy notes: Dry, short summers. Pergola's were commonly used to protect the grapes from sunburning. VSP is now more common.
Italy notes: Italian wines are named for the Region they are made in, not the grapes used in the wine. |
